COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE
In this culture, “lookin’ good” has
become essential. The many options available to interested consumer
include injections of chemicals, surgery, intense facial scrubs and
peels.
| Now a youthful appearance can be achieved with
acupuncture – specifically Mei Zen Acupuncture. No surgery,
drugs or electrical stimulation are needed. This procedure is
drawn from Chinese texts that are thousands of years old and it
provides a whole-body approach to a more youthful appearance for both
the face and abdomen. This wholistic approach supports the
concept that external beauty is a reflection of the balance and harmony
of the mind body and spirit of the individual on the inside. |

Nancy Davison, PT, LAc is the only practitioner in
central North Carolina trained in the Mei Zen method of cosmetic
acupuncture. The normal course of treatment is a total of 12
sessions- one initial 2 hour session for a comprehensive evaluation and
initial treatment, ten(10) actual facial or abdominal treatments for
one hour twice a week for a period of 5 weeks and the final treatment
to release any remaining imbalances. Nancy includes 2 Zero
Balancing treatments as a part of the series and each treatment
addresses individual body needs in addition to the cosmetic protocol.
Very tiny needles are inserted in points just under the
skin to stimulate elastin and collagen production and muscle tone. With
Facial acupuncture, fine lines soften, deep lines are smoother, broken
capillaries improve and acne and rosacea decrease. Abdominal
acupuncture often produces increased libido(sex
drive) and decreased measurements in lower body. Other
benefits of abdominal acupuncture may include reduced depression and
anxiety, better digestion and sleep, fewer hot flashes and night sweats
and reduction in pain.
Costs are considerably less that other forms of cosmetic
rejuvenation and it works. A study in the International Journal of
Clinical Acupuncture showed that or 300 people who received facial
acupuncture, 90 percent saw marked results after their first course of
treatments. Acupuncture is relatively pain free, quick recovery
time without bruising or wounds to heal. Let your true inner
beauty be revealed in your face and tummy through acupuncture.
